QR Codes for Restaurant Menus: Setup and Maintenance
Link to a readable current menu, retain alternatives and verify the printed table code.
Choose a mobile-friendly menu
An HTML menu can be easier to read on a phone than a large PDF. If you use a PDF, host it at an accessible link and check text size and file weight. Do not put a private editing link into the customer code.
Keep the address stable
A static QR can continue to point to a menu path while you update the content at that address. If you upload each new menu at a different filename, old printed codes may become outdated. Plan the update process before printing table cards.
Provide an alternative
A customer may lack a camera, battery or network access. Keep another way to view the menu. Clearly identify the destination and do not require unnecessary account creation just to read it.
Inspect the placement
Test the printed code under restaurant lighting and avoid reflective covers that obscure modules. Check for worn or replaced stickers during routine maintenance. Confirm the destination after every menu update.
