How to Prepare and Check a UPI QR Code
Understand what a basic UPI URI contains and verify payee details in the payment app before use.
Start with a confirmed UPI ID
Enter the intended virtual payment address and payee name. The generator can check basic format but cannot establish ownership or the bank account behind that address. Obtain the ID through a trusted source rather than copying it from an unverified message.
Use an optional amount carefully
A positive INR amount can be encoded for a specific request. Leave it blank when the payer should choose the amount. App behavior varies, so confirm how the resulting request appears instead of assuming that a stored field enforces a transaction rule.
Verify in the receiving app
After generating, scan with the intended UPI app and inspect the actual recipient shown there. This is a verification of the handoff, not a request to send money. Never enter a UPI PIN into the QR generator or a support form.
Separate utility from payment acceptance
This website produces a basic payment URI and does not process, authenticate or confirm transactions. Businesses should follow their bank or payment provider’s merchant setup and acceptance requirements. A generated image is not proof of settlement or a verified merchant credential.
